Posted Friday, April 25, 2008 by Saint's Reporter

The Saint's finished week 4 with a series sweep of West Catholic on Thursday by a final score of 10-0 thru 5 innings of play.

(Senior) Pitcher TJ Kinsey threw 76 pitches while only giving up 2 walks and 2 hits & 8 stikeouts while shutting the Burrs out. The Saint's also played a solid game in the field, comitting no errors.

Top of the 4th inning, the Saint's put a little rally together. (Junior) Billy Fulginiti started off with a solid line-drive single just over the head of the Burrs Shortstop, "Colon" and then moved up to 3rd after (Junior) Anthony Pfettscher & (Senior) Mike O'Hara both drew walks. (Senior) Dan Behlau then picked up an R.B.I. after he was hit by a pitch. After the Saint's 2 hole hitter struck out, (Sophmore) Mark Donato stepped up and hit a rocket to right center which accounted for a stand up triple w/ 3 R.B.I.'s. After another strikeout and a walk, (Senior) Aggie Osano hit a blistering double which scored another two runs before the inning ended. With the score at 7-0 and now entering the 5th inning, the Saint's first three batters walked and (Junior) Joe Armata came up to the plate, and on a 3-1 pitch smacked a line-drive one hopper to the centerfield fence for a stand up triple and
3 R.B.I.'s. The game ended after Kinsey put the Burr's next three batter down by way of a 5-3 and 2 strikeouts.

The Saint's came out flat early in the game but did enough to win the game after Coach Lou Spadaccini gave the team a little motivational speech before the 4th inning.

After losses by Kennedy Kenrick & Archbishop Carroll, the Saint's have an oppertunity to take over first place next week with a series sweep of a tuff Conwell Egan. The first Game will be played at Egan on Monday, April 28th and back at home on Wednesday, April 30th, both games at 3:45pm.
